시사&소설

 이번 아카데미 시상식에서 여우조연상과 각색상에 이어 작품상까지 받으며, 새로운 역사^[각주:1]를 썼다는 평가를 받는 영화 '노예 12년(12 Years A Slave)'.

 이에 맞춰 영화에 삽입된 곡이 클로징 곡으로 선택됐다.

 자유인으로 태어났지만, 납치를 당한 뒤 노예로서 산 실존 인물 솔로몬 노섭(Solomon Northup)의 삶. 자유민주주의 국가인 한국에서 태어나, 인생을 저당잡힌 채 불행하게 살아야 하는 이 땅 민초들의 삶과 크게 다르다 말할 수 있을까?
