A 48-year-old woman from Daegu was yesterday confirmed positive for COVID-19, Jeju announced.
According to Jeju, she came to Jeju on February 23rd. She has stayed at her friend's house in Hamdeok. Her route was investigated as following;

Arrived in Jeju to friend's house in Hamdeok.

1200 pm ~ 530 pm. Fishing at the wharf of Dongbok port.
540 pm ~ 625 pm. Dinner at 'Jeju Gdde Gjib Hamdeok Branch' w 3 people.
625 pm ~ 630 pm. Moved to 'Hamdeok Ogoon Musictown' noraebang by the restaurant's car
630 pm ~ 900 pm. Sang at the karaoke room.
900 pm. Took a taxi at near Hamdeok Police Box to home.

Feb. 27th
100 pm ~ . Driving on the coastal road in the friend's car.
456 pm. Went to GS25 convenience store at Coop City hotel.
500 pm. Back to the friend's house and dinner.

Feb. 28th
Stayed home all day.
957 pm. Chicken delivered.

Feb. 29th
200 pm ~ 249 pm. Lunch at Daesung Agujjim.
320 pm. Had coffee in paper cup at 'People cafe' in Sinchon, and took a walk toward Sinchon port for 20ish minutes.
500 pm. Back home.

Mar. 1st
247 pm. Heard her mom tested positive.
400 pm. Moved to Hanmaeum hospital in the friend's car.
500 pm. Arrived at the hospital.
700 pm. Back home and began self-quarantine.
1200 am. Transported to Jeju Nat'l Uni. hospital.

 Jeju Fire Festival got 'Go' sign amid COVID-19(the coronavirus) out break after long discussions, Jeju City who is the host last Friday announced.

 There have been a lot of talks about whether it should be cancelled. The final resolusion is the city will proceed the festival with cancelling many programs only.

 According to the new plan, the dates are from March 13 to 15. Thursday events are taken out. Congratulatory performances are gone, too. And, sister cities exchange programs are not going to happen, either.

 Jeju Special Self-governing Provincial Office on Wednesday announced that it will suspend the reservation system to reach the peak of Hallasan Mountain untill further notice to help the local economy fight the new coronavirus(COVID-19) emergency.

 Jeju World Heritage Center put the notice out on February 12th. It will take effect as of February 13th. It will not stop before the emergency settles down and it doesn't have bad influence on the local economy.

 During the suspension, Jeju will review and modify the system. Giving a penalty to no-show guest, hourly reservation, etc. will be considered, it added.

 Jeju explained that local tourism industry requested this at the tourism filed civil & governmental joint response cooperation meeting on February 3rd. Its purpose was to attract more tourists to Jeju as they were afraid that decreasing domestic tourists can result in a massive damage to the industry.

 Visitors to Jeju, as of February 11th of 2019 & 2020, fell down from 4,451 to 1,003(77.5%) for foreginers. Korean travellers showed a similar big decrease from 34,883 to 18,922(45.8%).

원희룡 지사, 관광객 유치 위해 한라산탐방예약제 유보

- 관광업계 요청 수용…내수 활성화 목적 -

- 13일부터 본격 실시…감염증 사태 진정 때까지 유보 -

■ 원희룡 제주특별자치도지사가 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(WHO 공식명칭 COVID-19) 사태로 위기에 처한 제주 지역 관광업계의 요청을 받아들여 한라산 탐방예약제를 일시 중단하기로 결정했다.

❍ 이번 조치는 감염증 불안감이 관광 기피와 활동·소비 위축으로 이어지면서 제주 지역 실물경제 위기가 현실화됨에 따라 내국인 관광객 유치 활성화를 위한 대책의 일환으로 추진하게 됐다.

■ 제주도 세계유산본부는 오는 13일부터 한라산 탐방예약제 시범 운행을 한시적으로 유보한다고 12일 공고를 통해 밝혔다.

❍ 유보 기간은 신종 코로나바이러스 사태가 진정되고 제주 경제에 큰 영향이 없다고 판단될 때까지다. 유보 기간 중에는 사전 예약을 하지 않아도 한라산 탐방이 가능하다.

❍ 이 기간 동안 도는 탐방예약제에 대한 제도 보완 작업에 착수한다. 예약 부도자(노쇼*)에게 패널티를 부여하고 예약 부도자로 피해를 보는 탐방객이 없도록 시간대별 탐방예약제를 검토할 계획이다.

* 취소 등의 연락 없이 나타나지 않는 예약자

■ 한라산 탐방예약제 일시 중단 논의는 지난 3일 열린 코로나바이러스 관련 관광 분야 민관공동대응협력회의에서 처음 제기됐다.

❍ 당시 회의에 참석한 관광업계 관계자들은 내국인 관광객 감소에 따른 피해가 상당할 것을 우려하며, 관광객 유치 활성화 대책의 일환으로 검토해 줄 것을 적극 요구했다.

❍ 11일 기준 입도객 현황을 보면, 외국인 관광객은 전년 같은 날 대비 77.5%(4,451명→1,003명) 급감했다. 내국인 관광객도 같은 기간 대비 45.8%(3만4,883명→1만8,922명)나 줄어들고 있다.

■ 원희룡 도지사는 “한라산을 보호하기 위해 탐방예약제는 반드시 정착되어야 하는 정책이지만, 제주경제가 위기를 맞고 있어 업계의 요청을 한시적으로 받아들이게 됐다”고 설명했다.

❍ 아울러 “제주를 방문하는 관광객들이 안심할 수 있도록 청정하고 안전한 제주 관광으로 신뢰도를 높이기 위해 방역에도 온 역량을 집중할 것”이라고 강조했다.

■ 한편, 제주도는 지난 1일부터 한라산 탐방예약제 시범운영을 실시했다. 하루 예약 인원은 성판악 1,000명, 관음사 500명이며, 운영 구간은 ‘성판악·관음사 코스-백록담 정상’이다.
