  Jeju had '0' case of COVID19 again on January 24th after 2(#517~518) on the 23rd.

- 517: Arrived in Jeju from the USA on the 23rd at about 9:00 am. Had a sample taken at the walk-thru clinic at the airport.

- 518: Had a severe fever before going to Sepgwipo Healthcare Center on the 23rd. Came to Jeju with family on January 5th. Had the symptom first on the 18th. Met other family members on the 10th and the 13th.

  This led to testing 7 people, of which 5 got negative results.

  Jeju had run tests on 209 people regarding the ferries going to Mara-do islet. All of them tested negative. It is counted that there are 873 passengers who boarded them during the dates. 169 took tests. 102 had no problem, while 67 are waiting for the outcome.

Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on Sunday announced that its 15th coronavirus patient was discharged at about 5 pm.
This made Jeju COVID19-free in 36 days since May 8th, when No. 14 tested positive after visiting King Club in Seoul. Thr 14th patient returned home from hospital one day before the 15th.

The 14th coronavirus patient in Jeju was discharged from hospital on Friday the 12th, Jeju announced.
The patient in her 30s tested positive for COVID19 on May 9th after she visited King Club in Itaewon, Seoul on May 5th.
This made Jeju clear from the Itaewon case. And it has only 1 patient still left in treatment.

Savejejubada, a beach cleanup campaign group in Jeju, begins a new funding.
It recently announced that it raises money to make environmental cleaning bags. According to this, 15,000 won you pay will let them produce the bags from recycling fabrics and plastics. Then, they will lend them to volunteers for free so that anyone can pick litters up very conveniently. They will keep them at their center at Gimnyeong beach.

Jeju is cleared from coronavirus case now again.
visitjeju.en, official English social media account of Jeju Tourism Organization, today posted the news.
It reads, as in the above picture, the 5th patient(F, 20s) was discharged from hospital at 2 pm on May 8th. She is the last one of all 13 patients in Jeju.
As a result, Jeju has come back to "0" patient of COVID-19. It had a short clean status between the 4th patient(confirmed on March 4th) and the 5th one(March 24th).

 Jeju has been in a good control over the novel coronavirus outbreak as it has only 12 confirmed positive cases while 4 of them discharged from the hospital.

 Out of the 12 confirmed cases, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 7th are fully recovered and released from in-bed care by the authority.

 The most unique patient is the No. 1, a naval soldier in his 20s, as he spent about a month getting over the virus, and tested postive again while being closely monitored after discharged from the hospital. The second confirmation was not as vivid as the first, but the local governmnet is keeping an eye on his condition.

 The one point to be noticed is that Jeju has more confirmed patients who returned to Jeju from studying abroad like the other citied in Korea. No. 7 to 12 are the cases except for No. 11, who is a family to No. 9. Considering No. 5 & 6 tested positive after coming back from taking a language course in Spain, all the infections in Jeju seem to have foreign origins.

 This makes me wonder what keep Jeju from getting community-acquired infection. Is it the government control, the cooperation of local people, or the clean and comparatively wet environment of Jeju?

The last novel coronavirus patient in Jeju is discharged from hosptal in Monday afternoon, the 23rd.

 According to Jeu Special Self-Governing Province, the patient, or No. 1 case confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus last month, was declared free from symptoms after two tests ended in negative. The medical team in charge of him concluded, therefore, he can leave the bed.

 But, he will be on further watch as he showed changing results between postive and negative before. Dr. Song Byunghul, director of Jeju National University Hospital, said "We will have him visit hospital every 2 or 3 weeks for testing whether he has a symptom or not."

 He added that people should keep the protective procedures as Jeju became the only place with no more confirmed cases today.

 Jeju Special Self-governing Province(Jeju) announced on Wednesday that applying for subsidies for electric bicycles(EB) in 2020 starts on January 5th.

 This is the 5th year since the 1st project began in 2016 as a way to reduce greenhouse gas emission and fine dusts.

ㅁ 제주특별자치도는 2016년부터 온실가스 및 미세먼지 줄이기 대책의 일환으로 ‘전기이륜차 보급 사업 공모’을 매년 실시해 왔다.

 Jeju will give the support to 870 EBs. The amount differs between 2.1~3.3 mil. KRW(appx. 200~300 US$) according to its kind(Light 1.53~2.1 mil. KRW, Small 2.34~2.6 mil. KRW, Large/Etc. 3.19~3.3 mil. KRW). You can additional 200 thousand KRW(appx. 180 US$) if you get rid of a present motorbike.

 ㅇ 올해 전기 이륜차 보급대수는 870대로 차종에 따라 최대 210~330만원이 차등 지원된다.

- 경형 153~210만원, 소형 234~260만원, 대형․기타형 319~330만원

 ㅇ 또한, 전기이륜차 신규구매 시, 기존 내연기관 이륜차 폐차할 경우 20만원이 추가 지급된다.

 ㅇ 또한 보조금 지원 선정 기준도 출고․등록 순에서 구매 지원신청서 접수순으로 변경된다.

 Plus, socially disadvantaged class(disabled, beneficiaries of national basic livelihodd, wounded war veterans, independence patriots, etc.), family with more than 3 children, and buyers of commercial vehicles with improving fine dust problems will have priorities.

 ㅇ 아울러 취약계층(장애인, 기초생활수급자, 상이유공자, 독립유공자 등), 다자녀 및 미세먼지 개선효과가 높은 영업용 차량 구매자를 보조금 지원 우선순위로 부여한다.

 But, the number of purchase is limited to 1 for an individual, and 20 for a company to prevent the governmental support from being sucked to a few buyers.

 ㅇ 전기이륜차 보급이 일부 사업자에 편중되는 것을 방지하기 위하여 구매대수는 개인 1대, 기업․법인 최대 20대로 제한하여 보급한다.

ㅁ 제주도는 “전기이륜차 보급사업은 도민들이 많은 관심 속에 매년 보급대수가 증가하고 있고 소음과 배출가스가 없어 미세먼지 등 대기 질을 개선하는 효과가 높다”며 “보급 활성화로 제주도의 CFI정책이 조기 실현되도록 노력하겠다” 말했다.

 ㅇ 2020년도 전기이륜차 보조금 신청 방법은 전기이륜차 제작‧수입사 및 도내 영업점에 직접 방문해 신청서를 제출하면 된다.
