Lotte & Shilla Duty-free shops are closing temporarily from June 1st.
According to Jejusori, the two duty-free giants made a decision to shut down until further notice. They have managed to run the business after the coronavirus outbreak. But 3 billion won(nearly 2.8 million dollars) loss every month ever since gave them no other choice.

Jeju on Sunday announced that all 140 self-quarantined people are now released after 2-week containment.
They were in a close contact with Jeju's 14th coronavirus patient, who got infected from the Itaewon club. The patient is in good condition, Jeju added.

제주도는 24일 0시부로 이같이 조치했다고 이날 밝혔다. 이태원 킹클럽 방문 뒤 확진 판정을 받은 14번 확진자의 상태는 양호하다고 제주도는 전했다.

2020 Stepping Stone Festival is finally cancelled.
The organizer yesterday announced it via its social media. This decision came as a precaution for keeping COVID19 from spreading. It is first ever decision, of course, in its 17 years.

This is the latest notice from Jeju office. Coming through and over the waves of dangers of coronavirus infection, Jeju is stepping on procedures to go back to the new normal in COVID19 pandemic.

Jeju on Tuesday announced that it has released 2 COVID19 patients, who tested positive after being released from hospital, according to the new rule set by KCDC(Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

ㅁ 제주특별자치도는 5월 19일 0시부터 기존 코로나19 재양성자 발생 시 관리 지침을 변경 운영하기로 하였으며, 이에 따라 19일 도내 재검출로 인해 재입원 중인 도내 5번, 11번 확진자의 퇴원이 이루어진다고 밝혔다.

❍ 이는 지난 18일 중앙방역대책본부가 확진자의 격리해제 후 재양성자 관리방안을 변경하여 안내한 것에 따른 것이며,

❍ 해당 퇴원조치로 인해 현재 도내 격리치료 중인 확진자는 1명(도내 14번 확진자)이다.

ㅁ 중앙방역대책본부는 지난 18일 오전 8시 반 영상회의에서 19일 0시부터는 현재 시행하고 있는 “확진자의 격리해제 후 관리 및 재양성자의 관리방안의 적용 지침”을 중단한다고 발표하였다.

❍ 다만, 조사 목적을 위해 재양성자 발생 시 보고 및 사례조사와 접촉자에 대한 조사 등은 지속하고 전문가의 권고에 따라 ‘재양성자’용어는 ‘격리해제 후 유전자 증폭(PCR) 재검출자’로 변경하기로 하였다.

❍ 또한 재양성자 관리방안 변경 시행 시 격리자도 소급적용하고, 격리해제 후 복귀 시 PCR 음성 확인을 요구하지 않도록 당부하였다.

❍ 중앙방역대책본부의 이러한 결정은 재양성자 및 접촉자에 대한 적극적인 감시, 역학조사 및 바이러스학적 검사 시행 결과 재양성자가 감염력이 있다는 근거가 확인되지 않음에 따른 것이다.

- 재양성자 285명의 접촉자 790명 조사 결과, 재양성자의 재양성 시기 접촉만으로 감염된 사례는 확인되지 않았으며, 재양성자 108명의 바이러스 배양검사 결과 모두 음성으로 확인되었다.

- 재양성자의 접촉자 중 신규 확진이 된 특이사례가 3건 보고 되었으나, 역학적으로 다른 감염원 노출의 가능성을 배제할 수 없고 재양성자 및 접촉자에서 바이러스 배양이 되지 않았으므로 재양성자에 의한 감염으로 단정하기는 어렵다.

ㅁ 제주도의 경우 현재 확진자 14명 가운데 4명의 재양성 사례*가 있으며, 재양성자들에 대해 제주대학교병원 음압병상 격리조치를 통해 관리해온 바 있다.

❍ 그 동안 퇴원 확진자를 대상으로 재양성 여부를 확인하기 위한 검사를 주기적으로 실시해왔으며, 이를 통해 4명의 재양성 사례를 확인하여 그에 대한 관리를 철저히 했으며,

- 확진자의 2회 음성 판정으로 격리해제 요건이 충족될 경우 퇴원과 동시에 2주 간 자가격리를 하도록 대처하여 재양성으로 인한 혹시 모를 지역사회로의 전파 우려를 불식시키고자 노력해왔다.

ㅁ 제주도는 해당 퇴원조치는 중대본 지침을 고려함과 동시에 도내 의료기관과의 긴밀한 협의를 거쳐 결정된 것으로 앞으로 도내 지역감염 제로를 유지하기 위하여 긴장을 늦추지 않겠다고 밝혔다.

ㅁ 한편, 제주도는 제주지역에서 서울 이태원 등 코로나19 확진자 관련 방문 이력으로 검사를 받은 인원이 19일 오전 10시 기준 총 221명으로 집계됐으며, 모두 음성임을 확인했다고 밝혔다.

She tested positive first on March 24th before her boyfriend(The 6th), and was discharged on May 5th

- The 11th Patient Transferred To Hospital 3rd Time
He was infected by his sister(The 9th) on April 3rd, and released on April 21st. But he got positive test 6 days later, and had medical cares till May 5th before got the 3rd test result on May 11th.

- The 14th Infected After Visiting The Itaewon Club

It is lucky enough to have a result that all 140 people who were closely contacted the 14th patient, who got infected after visiting King Club in Itaewon, Seoul on May 5th, tested NEGATIVE.
Jeju officially announced that they have finished running tests on everybody that was in the course of the itineraries of the sick.

제주도 14번 코로나19 확진자와 밀접접촉자 140명 모두 음성 판정. 다행이다. 역시 제주도에서 신종 코로나바이러스는 힘을 잃는 느낌.

The whole Jeju island on Saturday night was shocked with the 14th coronavirus case confirmed. The new patient, a female in her 30s, tested positive for COVID-19 late that day after visiting King Club which is one of the latest epicenters.
According to Jeju office, she reported to the authority that she stayed there on May 5th, from 1230 am till 600 am while she was visiting Seoul. She came back to Jeju the next day via a flight. She didn't have symptoms till she went to a special test center at Jeju Healthcare Center on the 9th.

This made it worse as she has contacted as many as 140 people while she worked at a local skincare clinic. They are her colleagues including doctor(10), clients(124), bus drivers(4), and a clerk at a food material mart(1). The doctor and one workmate even had a fever, which turned out to be negative innthe end.
The local authority has done tests on 102 people till now, and got no positive result other than the 14th.
As worries are accumulating, Jeju government is practicing more intensified quarantine measures to put off the possible second wave. It also encourages whoever was in the same itineraries with the already confirmed patients to come forward to have a test.

Jeju is cleared from coronavirus case now again.
visitjeju.en, official English social media account of Jeju Tourism Organization, today posted the news.
It reads, as in the above picture, the 5th patient(F, 20s) was discharged from hospital at 2 pm on May 8th. She is the last one of all 13 patients in Jeju.
As a result, Jeju has come back to "0" patient of COVID-19. It had a short clean status between the 4th patient(confirmed on March 4th) and the 5th one(March 24th).

Jeju is getting close to coronavirus-free again since the 1st case on February 21st.

Jeju Special Self-governing Province on Tuesday announced that four COVID-19 patients(1st, 6th, 11th, and 12th) were discharged from hospital. These include

- 1st(M, 20s)

tested positive as the first case in Jeju on February 21st

returned to his base on March 23rd

transferred again to hospital on March 30th

- 6th(M, 30s)

confirmed on March 24th

released on April 17th

resulted positive again April 23rd

- 11th(M, 30s)

taken to hospital on April 3rd

discharged on April 21st

got positive result on April 27th

- 12th(F, 20s)

notified to be infected by Walk-thru clinic test on April 3rd

This makes the 5th patient(F, 20s), who was tested positive on March 24th after returning from Spain, the longest(45 days in treatment) case without a break. (cf. the 1st case)

Jeju is still on high alert for coronavirus quarantine and advises peopl to practice strong social-distancing after it had nearly 200,000 tourists during the golden week holiday. This sounds quite reasonable as a new case was identified which is possble super spreader.
